What You Should Know About Liposuction
Tuesday, August 19th, 2008Liposuction surgery is a procedure to remove excessive fat. It is perfect to contour certain areas of your body and to get in better shape. However, it is not a weight loss solution because the more fat you wish to remove the higher the risks and a possible skin or issue damage.
Liposuction works best when small deposits of fat shall be removed from stubborn areas which are quite unresponsive to exercise or diet. Since a liposuction surgery is usually just done for cosmetic reasons, it is not covered by insurance.
Today liposuction is very safe. It is usually performed under local anesthesia and can last one hour or longer depending on the procedure used. After the surgery you will have to wear a body-compression garment for a while but you can go home very soon. Although liposuction prices are high, the surgery becomes increasingly popular.
If you visit a cosmetic surgery center in Manhattan or LA then you probably will pay most for your liposuction. But there are cheaper places, especially in Europe or Asia. But be careful. You must make sure to choose an experienced surgeon who uses the latest equipment and techniques for the surgery. Otherwise you risk an irreversible skin or issue damage.
