Cellulite Reduction 101

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009
by Lara G Giddins

It is often stated that liposuction is the best way to remove cellulite from the body. While this may be the case, not everyone wants to have surgery to reduce their cellulite. This may be because they dislike the idea of something invasive or simply can’t afford the procedure. Luckily, there are many alternative treatments available.

Treatments that you can do in the home are things like diet changes, more exercise or using body scrubs. For the day spa environment there treatments like body wraps, sound waves and laser therapy that help to remove the fat from underneath the skin and improve circulation flow to the skin itself.

The home method of using a body scrub is a simple and easy way to start losing cellulite. Find some lotion or moisturizer and add some dry coffee. Massage this lotion into the skin where the cellulite is present. Coffee has very strong anti-cellulite properties as well as seaweed.

Exercise can be a cost effective treatment for cellulite. Cardiovascular exercise will help you burn fat and cellulite, while strength training will help tone the muscles and increase the amount of calories that you burn during the day. Experiment with swimming, running or playing sport as way to get your exercise done.

Finding The Best Pedometer Watch

If you’re keen on keeping track of your fitness activity, especially your distance, time and number of steps, then sooner or later you’ll end up thinking about a pedometer watch. Before you decide which one you’re going to buy, here are a few things you should look for.

1. Make sure that the pedometer watch you’re looking at is accurate enough. You’ll have more of a choice if you don’t need high accuracy, but if you need reliable and accurate figures, your options will be a bit more limited.

2. What kind of sensor does it use? This is sort of related to the previous point because the newer technology is much more accurate. There are still pedometers about that use old technology - make sure you don’t unwittingly get one of them. Look for a mention of accelerometer and you will be fine.

3. It might sound obvious, but make sure the pedometer can tell the difference between walking and running. As well as that, make sure it tracks both types of exercise separately. Good pedometers usually wait until you’ve done a small amount of the same kind of exercise before they begin counting it.

No Pain While You Exercise to Build Muscle

How can someone exercise to build muscle, but do it without feeling the aches and pains after?

How would you like to get a couple tips on eliminating the pain out of working out and recovering, while also building muscle faster and stronger? In this article I have listed a couple of things you can do to help with getting the pain out of work out.

Most of these concepts are related to basic knowledge of working out, however they must be incorporated in to your work out, or you will still feel the burn.

It’s all about timing. For the best benefits, don’t work out passed an hour. After an hour, your worst enemy, lactic acid, will come into haunt you. This is what you want to stay away from to prevent the pain and cramps.

With this in mind, you must be able to get more done, and faster, than usual. You need to make whatever you do, worth your time. Lifting 80-85% of your one rep max is crucial. This is a good weight for high resistance, which will cut back your exercise’s total time.
