The Truth About Easy Vegetarian Recipes

Friday, December 26th, 2008
by Diana Pells

There has been much talk about new vegetarians and critics about finding an easy vegetarian recipe. In some cases, the need to find an easy vegetarian recipe is motivated not just by the need to really find one but to satisfy curiosity as well. Is there really such a thing as an easy vegetarian recipe?

The Value of Cooking at Home

It may be tempting to simply just go to a vegetarian restaurant for an easy vegetarian recipe if you are new at your vegetarian diet. Most of us know however that there are great advantages to cooking meals at home. Home cooked meals are almost always cheaper to prepare and have the additional benefit of binding members of a family in a comfortable atmosphere. One other major plus factor for you as a vegetarian is that you are 100% sure of the cleanliness of your vegetables and what exactly goes into a dish.

Knowing What Type You Belong To

The first step to finding the right easy vegetarian recipe to cook and serve is to find out what type of vegetarian you are and the people you are going to cook for. The most common type of vegetarian is the lacto-ovo-vegetarians who eat vegetables, fruits, eggs and dairy products. A lacto vegetarian eats the same kinds of food except for the eggs.

Water Filtration Systems vs. Bottled Water

With a huge trend of people turning towards natural health, it has been emphasized that drinking pure water is one of the most important things we can do for our health. Sadly, there are over 2,100 toxins that can be in our drinking water, including chlorine, lead, chemical run-offs from large farms and corporate pollution. These toxins are found in your tap water, whether you have well water or municipal water.

Many consumers think they are protecting themselves by drinking bottled water, but it has been reported that bottled water may not be much better. It can also be very expensive and environmentally harmful as the millions of plastic bottles are manufactured, transported, and then disposed of in our landfills; they’re slowly killing our planet!

The solution to protecting your health, your family’s health, and the health of our planet is a home water filtration system. There are many different water purifying systems that can be installed in your home. When you begin to research water filtration systems, you will notice significant differences between products, including their cost.

What You Should Know About Non Prescription Contact Lens

by Kaye Fretz

There are a lot of people who would want to get non prescription contact lens pairs. This is because contact lenses are now not just intended to correct vision. They can also be effective fashion statements and cosmetic enhancers. The question though is whether it truly is possible to get contact lenses without a prescription.

What Non Prescription Means

The term non prescription lens is often misunderstood. This is because many people who do seek prescription are those with vision and eye problems. Eye doctors may prescribe contact lenses to correct your vision or provide therapy for your eyes. This does not mean though that those who do not have vision problems and want to get contacts can dispense with the prescription. FDA guidelines state that even non corrective decorative lenses should come with a prescription. Non prescription lenses simply mean that they aren’t meant to correct vision but to improve your appearance instead.

Non Prescription Issues

There are reasons why non corrective lenses still require a prescription. One reason is that the eye sizes of different people differ. You would need to have your eyes fitted and measured before you can get the right lenses. You could suffer from some consequences if you get the wrong lenses. Aside from minor irritation, there is also the danger of possible eye scarring which could lead to blindness.
